2025 Registration Opens January 1, 2025 - Registration closes February 28, 2025.
What league should we register for? You should register based on your current grade year. Center Grove Youth Baseball is a grade based league, see details below:
- Rookie 4/5: Current pre-k
- Rookie 6: Current kindergarten
- Single A: Current 1st and 2nd graders
- Minors: Current 3rd and 4th graders
- Majors: Current 5th and 6th graders
-Seniors: Current 7th and 8th graders
What equipment does my athlete need for the season? CGYB provides each player with a jersey and hat. The player is responsible for gloves, helmets, bats, pants and cleats. Helmets are available upon request.
What bats are permitted? All bats with either the USA Baseball or USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp are eligible for use in the CGYB rec. and travel league programs. This includes small and big barrel diameters, including 2 1/4" up to 2 3/4". Bats must have ONE of these stamps to be eligible. What are the pitch counts? CGYB follows the Pitch Smart USA guidelines for our rec. and travel league programs, https://www.mlb.com/pitch-smart/pitching-guidelines/ages-9-12.
When are evaluations? Evaluations are for Single A, Minors, Major and Senior. They will take place March 9, 2025.
When will practice start? Practice for all divisions can start as early as the week of March 16. Coaches will be responsible for setting practice schedules.
Where will practice be? Practice locations, days of the week, and times are determined by the head coach. Typically these practices are held in your local area. CGYB will do our best to get all teams access to diamonds prior to the start of the season.
Where are the games? All rec. games will be hosted at CGYB.
How long is the season? Mid April to Early June.
When will the game schedule be available? Game schedules for the entire year will be available one week prior to the first games.
Can I request a specific coach? CGYB will do our best to honor requests for Rookie 4/5 and Rookie 6. CGYB does NOT offer special requests for Single A, Minor, Major or Senior Divisions.
When are team pictures taken? Team pictures are TBD
Will there be a tryout? There will be evaluations for Single A, Minors , Majors and Seniors. The date for evaluations 3/9.
Are pets allowed? NO pets are allowed at Ray Skillman Park.
